On the Maldive Islands, on board the “Duke of York”, we take part in the beginners diving course and make some wonderful dives: the dance of the stingrays is a delight for our beginners, as well as the sight of the Lion fish with its long “feathers” that wave as the currents pass over them. The Myaru Kandu Pass, however, is strictly reserved for more experienced divers, who find themselves face to face with shoals of carangids, barracuda and grey sharks. As well as the classical tourist resorts on the Maldives, we try to see an authentic part of these islands by visiting fishing villages, Fulidhoo and the Island of Guraidhoo, to the east of the Malè Atoll. Both of these villages give us a precious insight into everyday life on these Islands. An insight reserved exclusively for “real travelers”.
